The Butcher Program was established in 2002 as part of the launch of the Colorado Initiative in Molecular Biotechnology (now the University of Colorado BioFrontiers Institute).
Through the far-sighted generosity of Charlie and Jane Butcher, the Program has grown to include:
- Seed grants to fund collaborative and potentially transformative bioscience research
- A biannual symposium that brings together the best and brightest across the University of Colorado
- Charlie Butcher Awards to world-renowned scientists who have made significant contributions to bioscience and biotechnology.
